New 2011 Porsche Cayenne CLR 550 GT by Lumma Design

Porsche Cayenne (2010) by Lumma DesignThe new Cayenne is significantly prettier than the lumpy, first-generation model Porsche released upon us. Now it resembles a legitimate X5 competitor. Still, Lumma Design wants to take it a step further with its wide-body CLR 550 GT.

For now, though, it’s all just renderings.

Lumma is crafting an add-on lip spoiler with integrated fog lights, LED running lights, headlight trim, and a ton of carbon fiber bits for the Cayenne’s front end.

Its carbon-Kevlar hood will feature functional cooling vents and be raised slightly to cover the windshield wipers (reducing drag) around the cowl area.

Down the sides you can see Lumma’s signature extra-wide fenders covering 22- or 23-inch wheels, between which are special air-directing side skirts helping to cool the rear brakes.

At the rear is the rest of Lumma’s kit, which is a rear bumper, taillight trim, and a diffuser housing a very unique three-tipped exhaust.

Above that, there’s a carbon spoiler mid-hatch and another strip of carbon which somehow “provide additional power”. Downforce, I understand, but can anyone explain how two lines of carbon fiber make power?

If you’re looking for real power to go with the looks, you’ll have to contact the German folks over at Lumma Design. This kit is purely for show.

Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS: One Big, Bad Modded Porsche Cayenne

Written by nitram on April 25, 2009 – 09:23 -

Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS Porsche CayenneSometimes, a vehicle’s name is worth more than a thousand photos or a thousand words. Like, when you hear the name Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS, you know that what you’re about to see ain’t going to be pretty or puny… In this case, we’re talking about Gemballa’s heavily modified Cayenne proposal that comes with “Mad-Max” looks, an upgraded turbocharged V8 engine with 750HP and on top of that, a weight reduction of 250kg or 551 pounds over the standard Cayenne Turbo upon which it is based.

The extensive engine mods include the increase of the V8′s displacement from 4.8- to 5.0-liters and the fitment of fortified forged pistons, special connecting rods, racing turbochargers along with a new air intercooler plus a remapping of the ECU. The result is an impressive output of 750HP at 6,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,050Nm or 774-lbs/ft at 3200 rpm. The Tornado 750 GTS accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 300 km/h or 187mph.

Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS Porsche CayenneTo put all that power on the road in a politically correct manner, Gemballa’s engineers outfitted the Cayenne with a sports suspension that includes an adjustable coilover kit that allows the lowering of the car by up to 70mm. The Tornado 750 GTS rides on a set of extra light 22-inch alloy wheels shod in 335/25 Z22 high performance tires while stopping power is provided by a new braking system with 6-piston brake callipers and 420mm discs at the front axle and 4-piston brake callipers with 380mm discs at the rear axle.

On the outside, Gemballa’s team turned the Cayenne into a vehicle that could easily have had a role in the movie Death Race. Aerodynamic accessories aside, one of the highlights is the bonnet which has been ‘fused’ with the front wings and now opens as a whole.

Inside, Gemballa opted for a four-seat layout while the cabin has been upgraded with new materials and a redesigned center console hosting the lifted gearbox and the Data Control System.

The German tuning house said that the Tornado 750 GTS will be built in a limited number of 50 units with prices set at €400,000 or about $520,000
